What Is Hostname Lookup?
Hostname lookup (also called DNS resolution or forward DNS lookup) is the process of finding the IP address associated with a domain name or hostname. When you type a website address into your browser, your computer performs a hostname lookup to convert the domain name (like google.com) into an IP address (like 142.251.41.14) so it knows where to send your request. This tool lets you see what IP address a domain resolves to, which is useful for troubleshooting connectivity, verifying domain configurations, or investigating web services.
